Moti Elon Heckled while giving a weekly Torah lesson

Within hours of having been convicted of sexually abusing a minor, Rabbi Moti Elon was interrupted while giving a weekly Torah lesson by a man who claimed to be a sexual abuse victim and who pleaded with the rabbi to “admit he sinned.”

YNETnews. com (http://bit.ly/132SN6R) reports that the heckler, 40 year-old Nahum Pechnik, stunned attendees as he confronted Elon, yelling, “I want to tell you that you are a great man, but you need to find the courage to say ‘I have sinned.’ You are a great man, admit you have sinned.”

Pechnik later described himself as a married father of four who was sexually abused in 1993 by another prominent rabbi who, like Elon, refused to admit fault. Pechnik said the mental anguish he suffered as a result of the abuse ultimately forced him drop out of his elite IDF service path. “I couldn't go on; I didn't have the mental strength for it,” said Pechnik.

“I came in the name of all who were hurt. I hope (Elon) will have enough courage to admit he sinned. If he wasn't such a great man I wouldn't have bothered. I just hope he gets out of his denial, and admits that great men also fail.”

Disciples of Elon began singing loudly over Pechink before the lights were cut and Pechnik was unceremoniously dragged from the hall.

As the lesson resumed, Elon reiterated that he viewed his conviction as a test, and a mission from God. “What happened (in the courtroom) is a mission that the Lord wants us to take on. If the mission is hard, we must take it with a smile,” said Elon

  1. It's a shame nobody has done this to Charlie lover boy yet. What a chutzpa that that fat mamzer is allowed to carry on as normal.

    1. Elon has been fully investigated and the evidence used by a prosecutor to bring Elon to court. Elon has been found guilty by a court of law. [although he may still appeal].'Charlie' has not reached that stage.

    2. Ah yes, that line again. Innocent until proven guilty but if you wear a shtreimel then it's innocent afterwards too. Chaim Halpern has done a good enough job of terrorising victims who came forward to rabbonim so of course none of these unfortunate ladies are going to to press charges with the police. Would you want five thousand Satmar savages hunting for your scalp? RSW himself was threatened with violence repeatedly so why would a vulnerable woman think she could do any better?

There is not a single person who knows the details of these stories who doesn't think that they are true. In the words of one of those who was asked by the rabbonim to interview victims (over ten, and that was before many others came forward) the women did not know each other yet all described a consistent pattern and modus operandi.

Unfortunately, in the same way the Satmar rebbe knows that Weberman is a child rapist (the first few cases ended up at his door) and the Gerrer rebbe knows that Mondrowitz is a serial sodomiser of little boys, yet both still choose to protect them, for reshoim like Zev Feldman and Ephroyim Padwa, watching out for your team will always come first.

    3. Weberman and Mondorowitz are peadophiles. CH vee grois a rusha he is and a chazer etc his victims were consenting adults. Of course he should be thrown out like a dog. But which woman in their right mind lets her tuchois be squashed in the first place?
Padwa kicked him out the union. but was unable to kick his shul out. due to pressure from the shayna bridge lane bale batim.
he also has to keep on good terms with the Halpern family as this alliance started before most of us were born.
He told myers he can give CH siddur kiddushin as it is the one kibbud that can go to any shaigets so it was a good opportunity to give RChuna a little bit of simcha in his miserable life at the moment.
Padwa may be a big fat pots but fact is CH is banned from 140 Stamford Hill and his name will not be on the union calendar. Padwa may not be the man for the position but with regard to CH there is very little more he could do, just because LBD felt a gilu daas was warranted doesn't mean he had to do the same. - The Gilu Daas had some damaging affects on the youth of our kehilla which will take years to heal. There was an attempt to bring a beis din as that's his way of doing things. could be he knew about CH's activities for the last yoivel but maybe he thought better to keep him in Beis Din so at least he can be a bit busy with Choishen Mishpot and not just Hilchos Ishos. Padwa is no advocate of the police as per the channel 4 program but certainly with regard to CH there was not enough evidence to dial 999. the police do not understand that a woman with a shpitzle don't know what sex is and they think its normal to be groped by a rov with shwartze zocken. Everybody says Padwa Rusho bla bla what exactly would you do if you were in his boots / kolpik?

Very well written but a load of tosh

Firstly regarding the victims you have no clue how abusers work... they use the vulnerability of the women and work on them for months and years.... in this case he made them feel that he is a great tzadik and he is aloud to do all those things... why do you think they are now coming out against him... they now chap how he worked on there minds and spooked and used them....

Regarding Padwa what to do you mean an alliance between the halpern family and the Padwa's... well this alone is the chorben that is not an excuse it is just part of the scandal.. and the way Padwa dealt with this saga just shows he has no Siechel.

Regarding 999 .... o yes they have loads of evidence and and they know more that you think they know.... but the problem is bring the women to testify in court.... you know the problem... it is SHUDICHIM SHUDICHIM and SHUDICHIM !!!

  2. why is he still allowed to be a rosh yeshivah?9 August 2013 at 00:44

If this rav has been convicted do the Israeli courts not have a system to control his access to young people in order to protect the public?

In the UK in addition to the sentence courts can impose restrictions !

    Any experts care to respond?

    1. His lawyers say they plan to appeal, so the case may not be over. Also, I suspect the students in the yeshivah are not necesarily 'minors'.

  3. What pressure from the Bridge Lane baalebatim? If they told him they also want ladies having aliyos would he let that too? And if Padwa thinks the GD is causing problems with the youth, as opposed to the fact that he's made it clear that being from the right family is above Torah and mitzvos, then he really is the Moro Disaster.
